Ms. Burns will discuss the critical role of an educated work force in maintaining America’s economic leadership in a global economy – particularly the need to develop home-grown scientists, engineers and mathematicians. She will argue that America’s economic leadership and quality of life in the 20th century was fueled by innovation. That fuel source is in danger of drying up if we don’t invest in the education of our young people.
