Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering.  There are a number of opportunities as listed below for DEC members only:

Buddy Program:

Volunteers are needed to become a Buddy to new members where they will welcome those members via email, phone calls or at DEC meetings.

Volunteer for Career Readiness Academy (for Young Leaders Only):

Young Leader volunteers are needed to teach career readiness skills to high school students. This is a 6-month program that will place you with a team of YLs and a specific high school once a month for six months.

Volunteer at Chairman’s Dinner:

Volunteers are needed to assist DEC staff with set-up, registration, directing guests, managing Silent Auction, etc.

Volunteer at DEC Meetings:

Volunteers are needed to assist DEC staff with set-up, registration, directing guests, etc.

Speaker Reception Committee:

Volunteer committee members provide hospitality in the Speaker Reception.  Typically, a candidate has been a member for at least one year and will have attended up to 10 meetings in the past year.

Volunteer to Address High School and College Students on Career Paths at Student Receptions (for Young Leaders Only):

Two Young Leaders are asked to spend 20 minutes at the Student Reception before a regular DEC meeting. You will share your career path and what is like to work in your industry followed by questions from the students.  You must have a ticket to the regular DEC meeting to participate in this opportunity.
