Give a Student a Once in a Lifetime Opportunity
The Detroit Economic Club (DEC) Educational Outreach Program provides a unique opportunity for high school and college students to engage in today’s important business and political issues. The Club has a long history of inviting students to participate in its meetings to expose our young people to the dynamics of Detroit’s economic environment.
In the 2008-2009 school year, approximately 1,650 high school and college students attended DEC meetings – thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors and individual members.
Student Benefits
Prior to each DEC meeting, participating students have a unique opportunity to meet with the guest speaker and presiding officer at a student-only reception. This provides an unparalleled experience for young people to ask questions and engage in thoughtful discussion with today’s leading business, economic and political leaders.

Sponsor Benefits
Individuals or organizations may sponsor a student table for a tax-deductible donation of $450. For their contribution, sponsors receive recognition at the meeting and the opportunity to take a photo with the speaker and the students. The photo is distributed to the sponsor and schools to be published in their community outreach publications.
