About This Meeting

Governor Rick Snyder and former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson addressed the Detroit Economic Club Monday, July 21st, 2014, on how foreign investment can help the greater Detroit region and the State of Michigan.

One important aspect of foreign direct investment is that it must be mutually beneficial.

“When you say ‘foreign direct investment,’ the way I view it is it needs to be a two-way street. You can’t have a win-lose model when you’re talking about good economic development. It has to be a situation where everyone wins, and when you create that environment for wins, it can build on. So the good part is we’re well-positioned to do that, and we simply need to execute on this vision and we’re starting to see those results,” said Governor Snyder.
