About This Meeting
DEC Young Leaders enjoyed a late afternoon meeting on November 9, 2016, with Joe Mullany, CEO of the Detroit Medical Center. The sold-out meeting was held at DMC’s Heart Hospital.
Mr. Mullany shared his career path, which took him from Florida and Boston to Detroit in 2013, and then talked about growth and development of the DMC . Joe encouraged YLs to understand who they are as a person and leverage those strengths. He also stressed the importance of finding a mentor who can help you get to where you want to go and to be a mentor – a wonderfully rewarding experience.
A robust Q&A session followed which included discussions on technology’s impact on healthcare, mentorship and continuous improvement methods. Afterward, YLs toured DMC’s terrific, new Heart Hospital and the Midtown Marketplace.
