Launching a Local Sports Organization to Drive Economic Impact
About This Meeting
Sports represent big business to communities and that is especially true in Detroit. The region has a long history of producing winning teams, legendary athletes, and the greatest fans in America who pump millions of dollars into the local economy at sporting events. With the recent addition of Little Caesars Arena to its lineup of first class venues, Detroit can take its rightful place as the nation’s top city for hosting marquee sporting competitions. It will take teamwork to make this opportunity a reality. Top leadership from Detroit’s sports teams, the Detroit Sports Commission, Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, media and the business community have joined forces to form the Detroit Sports Organizing Corp. (DSOC). This group’s mission is to win the large Super Bowl-sized sporting events for the Motor City and by doing so accelerate the city’s economic growth.
On October 25, this panel of sports and entertainment leaders will share their strategic vision for the DSOC and for turning Detroit into the hottest new sports and entertainment destination.
