About This Meeting

Arn Tellem, Vice Chairman of the Detroit Pistons; Tom Wilson, President & CEO of Olympia Entertainment; and Rod Wood, Team President of the Detroit Lions addressed the Detroit Economic Club Wednesday, October 25, 2017, and discussed what economic impact Detroit’s sports teams and venues can have.

In a panel discussion led by Gus Johnson, Lead College Football & Basketball Play-by-Play Announcer at Fox Sports, the panelists discussed various developments happening around the city, including the recent opening of Little Caesars Arena, and how by working together with the Detroit Sports Commission to form the Detroit Sports Organizing Corp. (DSOC), everyone wins.

“We are working together for the good of the city, for each other, for our corporate partners, and for the many people in Detroit who would benefit from anyone of these events coming down here,” said Wood. “I think that that is an important message to get out, that we are really a team and a partnership working together and I think that is a credit to anyone who has been part of the organization.”
