Ten years ago, Doug Rothwell convened the leadership of large employers and universities from across the state to analyze the biggest challenges to Michigan’s prosperity. Since then, Business Leaders for Michigan (BLM) has helped guide solutions that have improved our business tax climate, regulatory environment and productivity. And yet, population growth, K-12 education and career readiness lag drastically.
We’re better, but we’re not best. So BLM put together a strategic plan identifying both short- and long-term actions policymakers can take to boost our state’s performance and ensure all residents benefit from a more prosperous future.
Doug Rothwell and Gerry Anderson will discuss the plan to tackle the challenges that remain. Join us and hear how the top thinkers, do-ers and wage-payers from across Michigan analyze data and recommend actions that will have lasting impact on our state’s future.
If your schedule permits, please stay after the program for a few minutes and network with over 100 Career Readiness Academy (CRA) graduates. Students will utilize the skills they learned during the 7-month career exploration program by networking and delivering their elevator pitches to DEC members and guests.
