9:00 AM

The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation

About This Meeting

MFGDAY16

A Special DEC Meeting for Students Only!

Manufacturing drives our economy and creates more great-paying jobs than any other industry. Students will learn about rewarding careers to build their future while experiencing the Henry Ford Museum, known world-wide for manufacturing marvels.

Students will enjoy a roundtable discussion on the exciting careers of today and tomorrow, as well as an interactive Q&A with:

  • Mark Johnson, Director, Advanced Manufacturing Office, US Dept. of Energy
  • Jeffrey M. Krause, Executive Director and CEO, SME
  • Andra Rush, CEO, Rush Group Inc. and Board Member, US Manufacturing Council
  • Susan Smyth, Ph.D., FSME, Chief Scientist, GM and Chair, US Manufacturing Council

THE MFG DAY MISSION

MFG DAY addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
