About This Meeting

Presidents from Michigan’s University Research Corridor (URC)— will release findings from its 2018 Economic Impact Report by Anderson Economic Group. They also will highlight how the URC institutions impact our communities and key industries and will share their insights as higher education leaders on what the future may hold for Michigan, ongoing URC strengths and our state’s competitive advantage.

From the forthcoming report, the URC contributed $18.7 billion to the state’s economy in FY 2017, which is more than 20 times the state’s funding for these three universities. The URC’s economic impact has grown $3.5 billion (23 percent) since the first time three URC presidents addressed the DEC in 2011.
