About This Meeting

An Exclusive Live Virtual Event

Academics have warned about AI causing disruption to the job market, at a time when creating high-quality jobs remains a top priority for policymakers everywhere. As those policymakers use taxpayer dollars to attract jobs at risk of automation—such as manufacturing, mobility, and electric vehicles—it raises questions about who will share in this new prosperity. How many of these jobs will still be held by humans in 5 years? What else do we know so far about the impact AI is making on jobs and wages? What proactive steps need to be taken today to mitigate the risk of AI leaving large groups of workers behind?

Daron Acemoglu will address these questions—and offer recommendations on how to steer AI in service of shared prosperity.
