The Detroit Tigers visited the Detroit Economic Club May 17, 2016 and covered a wide range of topics including the season thus far.
Executive Vice President and General Manager Al Avila said, “We have guys who are not selfish players and they do everything for the team. That is one of the things we look at when we bring players here to this organization. Right now we are disappointed. We don’t like the outcome so far, but we know that we are on the right track and with a few minor adjustments we should be able to turn this around not too long down the road.”
In a light-hearted panel discussion led by Tigers broadcasters Mario Impemba and Rod Allen, questions ranged from line-ups, Justin Verlander’s thoughts on pitching mounds and which player has the best, and worst, fashion sense. Both second baseman Ian Kinsler and right fielder J.D. Martinez agreed that Verlander wins the honor of best dressed.
