George Corona was named president and chief executive officer of Kelly Services (Nasdaq: KELYA, KELYB) in May 2017. Headquartered in Michigan, Kelly Services is a global leader in providing workforce solutions. Revenue in 2016 was $5.3 billion.
Mr. Corona joined the company in 1994 and has held numerous leadership roles throughout the last two decades. He served as U.S. middle market leader (where he helped launch Kelly Educational Staffing, a specialty service currently celebrating its 20th anniversary) before being named executive vice president of the Americas. He was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2009 and assumed responsibility for all of Kelly’s global operations.
Mr. Corona has successfully led Kelly to continuously transform and adapt in today’s highly competitive marketplace. As chief operating officer, he oversaw the transformation of Kelly’s operating models to align with market demands; sharpened the company’s focus on areas that can best deliver profitable growth; and pressed for increased efficiency in delivering excellent service to clients of all sizes. He serves as executive sponsor on some of Kelly’s largest accounts and has been pivotal in efforts to win, retain, and expand key client relationships. Mr. Corona brings deep operational and industry knowledge to his role as CEO. In 2017, Mr. Corona was recognize by Staffing Industry Analysts as an influential European staffing leader in the group’s annual list of European leaders. The list is based on the impact and influence that industry leaders have had on the workforce solutions ecosystem, be it through growth, vision, innovation or legislation, during the past year.
Prior to joining Kelly, Mr. Corona held management roles at Digital Equipment Professional Services Group and Burroughs Corporation. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Oakland University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wayne State University. He currently serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Advisory Council on Agriculture, Small Business, and Labor.
