Open Call For Speakers – 2024 DEC YL Conference
The DEC is excited to host Young Leaders at the 10th Annual Young Leader Conference (YLC) on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at MotorCity Casino Hotel.
Local and national experts from multiple disciplines are invited to propose engaging professional development topics to present breakout sessions (40 minutes).
Solo and panel submissions must focus on the theme of “Using the Past to Drive the Future.”
Topics can include, but are not limited to:
- Pioneering Digital Innovation (e.g. advancements in technology, new ideas for digital platforms, creating groundbreaking solutions to improve people’s lives, etc.)
- Embracing the State of Michigan Industry Identity (e.g. unique characteristics and strengths of Michigan industries, appreciating and understanding Michigan’s key sectors, drive to economic growth and opportunities, etc.)
- Defining Detroit-based Leadership/Entrepreneurship (e.g. leadership, growth, revitalization of Detroit, etc.)
- Fostering Connection and Finding Communities (e.g. building connections and a sense of community, an environment where individuals and groups can thrive, etc.)
- Collaborating Across Borders (e.g opportunities to work together, leverage collective strengths, share knowledge, and best practices, etc.)
YLC aims to provide DEC Young Leaders under 40 years of age with the tools they need to navigate their successful future.

Speakers will be notified whether they were chosen or not no later than the end of July 2024.
