About This Meeting

DEC Young Leaders enjoyed a late afternoon meeting with Heather Paquette, Managing Partner, KPMG, on January 14, 2016. The sold-out meeting was held at Cobo Center during a NAIAS Industry Preview Day.

In a program titled Inspire Confidence. Empower Change. Using Purpose to Drive Innovation, Heather discussed the “power of purpose” by sharing a current KPMG campaign that is driving amazing cultural change.  She encouraged Young Leaders to communicate a higher purpose which will result in a culture that raises employee engagement and morale.  She believes this type of culture will motivate employees to go the extra mile for both their clients and the company

A Q&A session followed which included discussions on leadership styles, managing a large vs. small team and advice on how to address team members who may offer resistance to change. Afterwards, Young Leaders enjoyed exclusive access to the NAIAS showroom floor and took delight in the fabulous automotive exhibits.
