Powering Michigan’s Future with Innovative Ideas and Human Capital
About This Meeting
University of Michigan President Dr. Mark Schlissel spoke to the Detroit Economic Club Tuesday, October 6th, about the economic resurgence of Michigan and the role of higher education now and in the future.
Dr. Schlissel mentioned how Michigan has played a huge role in innovation, invention and big ideas that have changed the world, but those ideas came to life starting with education.
“It’s the ability to attract, educate and retain the people that give birth to these ideas that is our greatest asset,” Schlissel said. “It’s the rising talent and the companies who employ that talent that we can leverage together to ensure our future.”
