The Detroit Red Wings visited the Detroit Economic Club Monday, January 23, 2017, and touched on a variety of topics including the compressed schedule and different practice schedules.
“I think the mentality changes because it is not all or nothing,” said head coach Jeff Blashill. “The players are all at different stages in their careers, so we just have to make those decisions on a regular basis. I believe in habits. Habits are established through practice so it makes it difficult at times but it also means that you have to do a better job at times at filming the practices and seeing what you can do better.”
In a Q&A session with Red Wings announcers Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond, players and Redmond reflected on the farewell season at The Joe Louis Arena as well as Detroit’s love for the Red Wings.
