To continue to lead as a mobility industry trailblazer, Detroit needed to develop a world-class innovation ecosystem. And Michigan Central is creating just that – advancing mobility technologies and shaping programs that address barriers to social and economic good for Detroit and the world.
Later this month, Michigan Central is opening its first anchor building on its 30-acre site – The Book Depository – that also is now home to Newlab Detroit’s headquarters, a center of invention originally from Brooklyn, New York, applying innovation to some of the world’s most complex challenges in mobility, energy, and materials with hundreds of startups, entrepreneurs, and engineers. In partnership between Michigan Central and Newlab, this building will serve as a platform catalyzing Detroit’s evolution into a mobility tech center.
